Dr Richard Q. Turcsányi is Program Director at the Central European Institute for Asian Studies, as well as Deputy Director of the Institute of Asian Studies and the Director of Strategic Policy Institute – both in Bratislava. He is an Assistant Professor at Mendel University in Brno and Associate Fellow at Institute of International Relations Prague. He received his Ph.D. in International Relations from Masaryk University, where he also studied economy and political science. In the past, he conducted a long-term study and research stays at University of Toronto, Peking University, National Chengchi University in Taipei. He was a Visiting Research Fellow at the European Institute for Asian Studies and is still affiliated as an Associate Researcher. Richard has a broad experience with lecturing on international relations, security, and economic issues of Central Europe and East Asia. In his academic research, he focuses mostly on Central Europe’s relations with East Asia and Chinese foreign policy.
