Moritz holds a Master degree in Economics from the Barcelona School of Economics, and a Bachelor degree in International Relations and Economics from SOAS University of London. Born in Brussels, he possesses a keen interest in East Asia, focusing his studies on the region’s development, macroeconomics, and cultural governance in China, writing his undergraduate dissertation on how Xi Jinping has used education to further his influence on ‘Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.’
Having spent time in both Beijing and Taipei, Moritz has completed several intensive Mandarin courses and thereby cultivated a deep appreciation for Mandarin language and culture. His research interests centre on North East Asia, encompassing topics such as industrial policies in China, the impact of semiconductors on trade dynamics and climate policies.
