On 30 March 2016, Senior Associate Mr Frederic Carlier delivered a speech on seniors’ access to digital market in Japan at European Economic and Social Committee (EESC). The aim of this seminar at EESC was to identify challenges and potential opportunities in aging societies. Based on the fact that both Europe and Japan are experiencing similar demographic challenges with an increasing number of seniors, Mr Carlier emphasized the importance of collaboration with various actors, including the government, local entities, NGOs as well as companies, to support seniors in digital access. Moreover, introducing ICTs in the field of health and medical sectors is expected to create new business and economic benefits.
