On the occasion of the Viet Nam Trade Forum 2022 organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Viet Nam on 29 September 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City, Axel Goethals, EIAS CEO, had the pleasure to (virtually) contribute to an insightful and rich panel discussion discussing the opportunities and challenges of the EU-Viet Nam Trade Agreement (EVFTA). On the importance of maximizing the benefits of the EVFTA, Axel Goethals presented his vision of an efficient and effective trade relation based on a supporting framework for Small and Medium Enterprises and the potential benefits deriving from bilateral trade exchanges in the pharmaceutical sector. As he underlined the need to promote the EVFTA’s opportunities, he stressed the long-term benefits of such a cooperation for a bilateral supply of raw materials and semi-processed pharmaceutical products and the rise of Viet Nam’s high-tech pharmaceutical industry. He finally concluded by expressing its optimism towards the future EU-Viet Nam economic and political relations.
