The Embassy of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Belgium, in collaboration with the Central Eurasian Development Forum and the European Institute for Asian Studies had the pleasure of hosting a Roundtable Discussion on “Turkmenistan and the EU: Forging New Economic Partnerships”. The Roundtable featured the participation of H.E. Rashid Meredov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and took place on Monday, 18 March 2024 from 17:00 to 18:30 at The Hotel, Bd de Waterloo 38, 1000 Bruxelles, Belgium. 

This event attracted a high number of participants, both in person and online, and fostering dialogue between Turkmenistan and the European Union, including its private sector to create new economic partnerships. It convened industry leaders and policymakers to discuss the potential for collaboration in critical areas such as energy, investment, and trade. The roundtable delved into the strategic significance of Turkmenistan-EU economic ties within inter-regional cooperation, sustainability, and new economic opportunities for the EU’s private sector. By examining Turkmenistan’s approach to international business engagements and its interactions with the global market and international organisations, this gathering sought to identify and develop opportunities for sustainable economic growth and mutual prosperity.
