Dear Sir/Madam/X,
The European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS) and the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) hosted an expert panel discussion under the ASEF Lecture Series, entitled “From Globalisation to Economic Security: Asia–Europe Perspectives.”
This Panel Discussion and exchange of views took place on Monday, 11 May 2026, from 16:00 to 18:00, at the EIAS office, Rue de la Loi 26, B-1040 Brussels, Belgium. The panel featured high-level representatives from diplomacy, European security policy, academia, and the private sector, including the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union, alongside experts from the European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS), Temasek Singapore, the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), and the European Policy Centre (EPC).
The global economy is undergoing significant structural transformation. Globalisation is increasingly influenced by geopolitical tensions, economic security concerns, supply-chain disruptions, strategic competition and systemic rivalry. Against this backdrop, this Asia-Europe Policy Panel in Brussels aimed at facilitating a forward-looking and policy-oriented exchange between European and Asian stakeholders.
