On 24 January 2023 EIAS Director Lin Goethals contributed to this online seminar organised by the Hanns Seidel Foundation Brussels Office, sharing her views on EU-Kazakhstan Relations, in particular on how the EU and Kazakhstan can increase their economic partnership and cooperation, connectivity and how the EU can increase its soft power and presence on the ground, while addressing and engaging Kazakhstan’s Youth and younger generations.
On 12 December 2022, a lunch meeting and discussion with a Visiting Delegation from ASEAN under the EU Visiting Programme (EUVP) was held at EIAS in Brussels. During the discussion thoughts and concerns were shared regarding EU-ASEAN relations, common challenges and potential solutions, as well as how to advance the EU-ASEAN Strategic Partnership. Especially the fields of trade, green transition, connectivity, youth cooperation, as well EU-ASEAN relations in the Indo-Pacific, ASEAN Centrality and Parliamentary cooperation were addressed.

On 26-27 September 2022 the ESSCA School of Management EU*Asia Institute organised a Workshop “Business as Unusual: New Approaches to EU-China Relations” at the ESSCA Campus in Angers and online. A variety of experts on EU-China from both Europe and China participated in the workshop. EIAS Director Lin Goethals gave a presentation on “A post-pandemic re-assessment of EU-China Relations”.
