Tom Wilms is a graduate student in International Relations, enrolled in a joint honours program at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Free University of Berlin and University of Potsdam, with a focus on geopolitics in the Indo-Pacific region. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a focus on International Relations as well as Peace and Conflict Studies with regional emphasis on China and Southeast Asia from the Free University of Berlin. Prior to joining EIAS, he worked for the EU and International Affairs Division at the Berlin Senate.
His main research interests include foreign and security policies of China and Southeast Asian states, as well as their respective reciprocal relations with the EU, the US, and various regional actors. He further concentrates on digital geopolitics, Arctic and space policy.
