Thomas Maddock

Thomas Maddock is a student in the Master’s degree programme in European Affairs at Sciences-Po Paris. His studies have been primarily focused on EU external relations, with a particular focus on EU-China, EU-ASEAN, and EU-Russia relations. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Warwick, where he focused on topics including Chinese politics, EU policymaking, and French foreign policy. During his Bachelor’s studies, he also worked at a UK regional office in Brussels.

While at EIAS, Thomas Maddock’s research focuses on EU-China relations, particularly on how the changing geopolitical landscape informs political and economic engagement. He aims to build his knowledge more broadly on EU external relations and how member-states’ interests shape EU-level relations and the EU’s External Action.
